This painting captures the soft pink glow to the Montana skies in August, when the atmosphere is thick with heat and sometimes smoke.  There is a certain feel and energy in the sky that time of year.  The land has produced to it's fullest potential, everything has grown or overgrown.  It's the end of the season.
